Eastern Towhee (Pipilo erythrophthalmus)

Eastern Towhee was formerly regarded as conspecific with Spotted Towhee (P. maculatus), and called Rufous-sided Townee. In 1995 American Ornithologists' Union split the Rufous-sided Towhee into two species, P. erythropthalmus  (Central and Eastern North America), and P. maculatus  ( mostly west of the Great Plains).

We have 12 images of this species. To view other images of Eastern Towhee please contact us.
