Jefferson Salamander (Ambystoma jeffersonianum)

Jefferson Salamander readily hybridizes with a closely related Blue-spotted Salamander (Ambystoma laterale), and their hybrids are often indistinguishable from Blue-spotted and Jefferson salamanders. However, all hybrids are unisexual, and the salamanders from images 10386 and 10768 were males, and thus likely pure Jefferson Salamanders. Other animals on these photos are likely hybrids.

We have 11 images of this species. To view other images of Jefferson Salamander and hybrids please contact us.
