Greek Tortoise (Testudo graeca) Linnaeus, 1758

 

Synonyms: Common Tortoise, Spur-thighed Tortoise

 

 

Testudo graeca occurs in the Mediterranean, the Caucasus, and the Middle East. Although, this species inhabits primarily semi-deserts and grasslands, it is also found in dry forests and agricultural lands.
